Hey There!

I’m Vee,

Mom, Art History nerd, and unapologetic Dr Pepper enthusiast. While my days often revolve around homeschool, snack negotiations, and laundry mountains, my heart always circles back to one thing: Art.

Art matters. It’s how humans have always made sense of the world-through color, story, movement, and meaning. For me, studying art history isn’t just about memorizing names or dates. It’s about discovering the heartbeat of every era, hearing the voices of people long gone, and seeing how creativity has always shaped our past and present.

Children need art. Not just because it’s cute or fun, but because it helps them grow into thoughtful, imaginative, emotionally intelligent people. Art builds skills that no test score can measure-like empathy, curiosity, and the courage to try something new. When we show kids that art matters, we’re also showing them that they matter.

Here on A Sprinkle of Sunshine, I blend my love for creativity with real life—always on the lookout for everyday art, sneaking bits of history and imagination into ordinary days with my kids. Sometimes it’s sidewalk chalk, sometimes it’s storybooks, or simply spotting beauty in unexpected places.

Whether you’re here for art activities, learning ideas, or just curious about how Van Gogh and Dr Pepper can somehow go together…. Welcome! You’re in the right place.
